When Brook Peters set out to make his film about living through 9/11 as a child, he didn’t realize THE SECOND DAY would convey a universal story of inner strength and resilience that could inspire people around the world. In response to Brook’s Show Your Strength Campaign, over 150 young people submitted their personal stories of courage and hope. And the band Simple Plan supported the campaign by offering their song “What If”.

Award-winning Canadian rock band Simple Plan supported the Show Your Strength Campaign to inspire youth across the globe. “I approached Simple Plan to use the song What If as the soundtrack to the Show Your Strength video because I feel it makes listeners question what they can do to change themselves and, in turn, help to change the world,” said Brook Peters.

It doesn’t matter if it takes a billion miles long, ALWAYS STAY STRONG…

My grandfather died recently and not only I was hurt but my whole family was impacted. We were in pain together and now we are strong together. Even though someone may seem strong they might not always actually be strong. So all I want to say is “Don’t always be strong, BE STRONG!”

A couple weeks before I left for college in 2006, my 20 year old brother was killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq. My whole world was turned upside down and everything changed. But, I knew I had to continue with my life as I know he had planned to when he returned home. So, I decided to journey for two. I live my life so that Ryan is remembered in every step. I know he would have wanted it that way. He would’ve wanted me to live, dream, and love. And that is what I am doing. I keep him safe inside my present and my future.

My story is pretty short and obvious I think.
I have a very big vision defect I was born with it. All of the doctors always told me that I won’t be able to do things that I want to do. But now I still have this problem with my eyes but I do what I want to do.
I’ve never gave up and I’ve always fought to the end that thing will never change in my life!
i was homeless with a newborn girl and me and my hubby stuck together and did our hardest we had no job and in the winter time in idaho walking a stroller with stuff trying to survive but we did and now we have a better life now

When i was small i used to live with my dad, but he did not care about me. he was an alcoholic, so my mom had to get a divorce. I tried to forget all of the bad things he would say or do in front of me but i can’t. Many people would say that i would be just like him, but i would tell them that as long as i dream, i can change. Now i lived in the U.S. I am only 16 years old but i do know that it’s never too late to change your life. I always dream of a future when i will be the father i wanted my dad to be. I dream of one day showing the world that not because there’s a bad seed in the family all of the others will rot. I believe in change. So What If i change the world?

No matter what society thinks, or the pressure they put on you to be ‘perfect’ you’ve gotta keep in mind you are perfect in your own way, and thinking this way about yourself is the start for others to see you that way as well. But over all, no matter how hard things get, you’ve got to Stay Strong, and it’ll be okay.
Ok, so this is my story. My dad left me when I was 7. He was everything for me! He was my hero, my only hope. That is the worst thing in my life. I didn’t see him since 2007. I love him so much. He doesn’t deserve anything from me, but he is still my dad. I hope that I will see him one day again. It’s hard to be strong, but I must be strong and now I know that I am strong! And I know that everything will be OK one day. It’s still hard for me, but I’m ok. I love my life and whatever happens I know that I must be strong! Love from me! <3

My Dad recently passed away on June 3rd of this year. This summer I went to see Simple Plan at two or their Warped Tour dates while meeting them and getting front row at both. I have learned that you have to think positive because there will be brighter days. You just have to have hope. Hope can get you through anything, you just have to ask yourself the question, “What If?”
