When Brook Peters set out to make his film about living through 9/11 as a child, he didn’t realize THE SECOND DAY would convey a universal story of inner strength and resilience that could inspire people around the world. In response to Brook’s Show Your Strength Campaign, over 150 young people submitted their personal stories of courage and hope. And the band Simple Plan supported the campaign by offering their song “What If”.

Award-winning Canadian rock band Simple Plan supported the Show Your Strength Campaign to inspire youth across the globe. “I approached Simple Plan to use the song What If as the soundtrack to the Show Your Strength video because I feel it makes listeners question what they can do to change themselves and, in turn, help to change the world,” said Brook Peters.

My whole life I’ve been told that I wasn’t good enough. But by staying strong and surrounding myself with the people I care about, and who care about me; I am able to prove those people wrong. And so can you! You are good enough, I promise!

I have “Let Your Spark Fly” tattooed on the back of my shoulder because all through-out elementary school & the beginning of High School, I was bullied. I hated myself and I hated what I looked it. I tried to be like everyone else just so I could fit in, but it didn’t work. One day, I decided to just be myself and to not let anyone push me down. I wore what I was comfortable wearing and acted the way I wanted to. I didn’t pretend to be somebody else. I showed the bullies that I didn’t care what they had to say about me and since then, the bullying stopped. So “Let Your Spark Fly” is my way of saying be yourself and don’t let anyone push you to do otherwise! Because everyone is beautiful in their own way.
I have overcome a lot in my life. I have learned I will never be alone in my struggles and that there are always people by my side. I’ve ovecome a serious case of Anxiety disorder where I used to get severe panic attacks and I thought I was going to die. Thanks to the support of my friends, my family and my ever loving boyfriend Jay, I managed to overcome something that crippled me for a long time without the need for medical treatment. Thank you guys. I love you all. The music of the band has also helped inspire me. I can relate to literally ever song and I know I’m not alone.

If do you really want something you have to fight for to get it. never give up. there will be many obstacles.
Tomorrow is another day forget the past…
Hi I am Hannah! My saying “love the one’s that love you” it’s pretty much saying love your loved one like family and friends before they are gone. You see, my cousin was killed in Iraq when he was 21 years old. I never realized how much I missed him until he was gone. Whenever we talk about him at family outings with my cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandma, everyone has a story to share about my cousin that died, because I was only in first grade when he went to Iraq. He was killed when I was in third grade, I had to be so strong for everyone while I was only 9 years old and hurting so much inside. One thing I remember of him is he would take me to the basement and I would watch him play on the drums. So love the one’s who love you before they are gone. R.I.P Matt.
