Show Your Strength

When Brook Peters set out to make his film about living through 9/11 as a child, he didn’t realize THE SECOND DAY would convey a universal story of inner strength and resilience that could inspire people around the world. In response to Brook’s Show Your Strength Campaign, over 150 young people submitted their personal stories of courage and hope. And the band Simple Plan supported the campaign by offering their song “What If”.

Award-winning Canadian rock band Simple Plan supported the Show Your Strength Campaign to inspire youth across the globe. “I approached Simple Plan to use the song What If  as the soundtrack to the Show Your Strength video because I feel it makes listeners question what they can do to change themselves and, in turn, help to change the world,” said Brook Peters.

So mant people give up, weather its on giving up on themselves or just plainly giving up on life, I’ve seen to many people do both, but you should never give up even when it feels like theres nothing left to live for, there is.

I’m Kryssy! I have the word “Dream” for a tattoo on my wrist. My saying is “Follow Your Dream.” I think it’s so important to go after a dream or a goal that you have, and to never give up. Every bad day I have from time to time, makes me appreciate the good days that I have. My dream is to graduate, go to college and take a cosmetology and esthetics course and someday open my own hair salon. So, follow your dream!

Smile, and the world smiles back. If you don’t find someone who smiles back, then you are not looking hard enough.

‘Believe in the Possibilities’ really means a lot to me. I had a lot of trouble going through school; I was bullied all through my elementary school years until about the seventh grade. It got to the point where I began to see myself as this worthless, terrible person, and didn’t want to be here anymore. I hurt myself, and while I was ashamed of it didn’t know what else to do. Music has always been important to me, and Simple Plan’s music was a huge factor in my life; they helped me to feel like I wasn’t alone, and that somebody else out there knew how I felt. With the help and support of a few very close friends and my family I am in a much better place now then I was back then; I still have my struggles but now I know that no matter who or where you are there is hope, and that we can be the people we want to be, even though it sometimes seems unattainable or impossible.
