Show Your Strength

When Brook Peters set out to make his film about living through 9/11 as a child, he didn’t realize THE SECOND DAY would convey a universal story of inner strength and resilience that could inspire people around the world. In response to Brook’s Show Your Strength Campaign, over 150 young people submitted their personal stories of courage and hope. And the band Simple Plan supported the campaign by offering their song “What If”.

Watch the music video below to see how others face life’s challenges, and share the video to inspire people you know. Play it forward by sharing your story.

Award-winning Canadian rock band Simple Plan supported the Show Your Strength Campaign to inspire youth across the globe. “I approached Simple Plan to use the song What If  as the soundtrack to the Show Your Strength video because I feel it makes listeners question what they can do to change themselves and, in turn, help to change the world,” said Brook Peters.

My brother died of cancer when I was 16….he was my reason to live. He used to rise me up when i need it. He was always helping me and making me smile….one day I had this big fight with my parents about school, and he just told me BE STRONG…..that and a nice hug made feel better. Since he died until now I cry every night cause I miss him so much. He was just 11 years old. And he was my angel guard.

Even when it gets really really hard you can never give up. There is always a chance that everything will work out fine…
I didn’t have an easy childhood and there were moments when I just wanted to run away from all of my problems, but then I thought, that if I do that nothing will change. Even thou it wasn’t easy I made it somehow and I believe that it made me stronger. It made me who I’m right now. Now I’m a type of person with big dreams and I will never stop until I made them all come true. The bigger the dreams are the harder you need to work on them. So NEVER GIVE UP on anything and on anybody.

Know that through the hardest times, you will pull through.
It has taken me years to realize that, no matter what, things will turn out alright.

    Life keeps going.

    It will eventually go “up”

I will all be ok in the end.

A few years ago, we started a new church in our community. Not everyone understood why. There were lots of questions about this new and “different” church, but we hung together and kept faith in our calling.

We may be a small youth group in a small church in a small town. But through our FAITH in Jesus Christ, we are able to face the challenges of each day and to live life LARGE!

The quote, ‘Home of the free because of the brave’ tells us that we have to be brave enough to be free. That with freedom always comes responsibility. We need to be brave to have responsibility to protect our rights and our citizens. Also, if you limit yourself because you are not brave, you won’t get any freedom because of it.

I know that life isn’t always easy and sometimes you feel like the world is gray and nobody cares about you.
And then you need a friend, a good one who listens to you and make you feel beloved.
When I had bad times in the past few years, my friends where always there for me to help me bearing up – that’s why my inner strength is to be a good friend.

Believe in dreams-that’s my way to show myself that there’s something inside you, what might help you to go through the sad and dark times of life. Life can’t always be easy. Anyway you shouldn’t give up in dreaming. Dreams are my ray of hope. If you feel down, broken or alone you shouldn’t give up. Looking forward and see that there’s something to live for, can be one of the best things to get through the trouble times. So don’t give up if life brings you down. Believe in your dream. There’s a reason why you dream for it and the thought itself, that your dream might become true is such a strong thing, you maybe never expected.
