Show Your Strength

When Brook Peters set out to make his film about living through 9/11 as a child, he didn’t realize THE SECOND DAY would convey a universal story of inner strength and resilience that could inspire people around the world. In response to Brook’s Show Your Strength Campaign, over 150 young people submitted their personal stories of courage and hope. And the band Simple Plan supported the campaign by offering their song “What If”.

Watch the music video below to see how others face life’s challenges, and share the video to inspire people you know. Play it forward by sharing your story.

Award-winning Canadian rock band Simple Plan supported the Show Your Strength Campaign to inspire youth across the globe. “I approached Simple Plan to use the song What If  as the soundtrack to the Show Your Strength video because I feel it makes listeners question what they can do to change themselves and, in turn, help to change the world,” said Brook Peters.

This is a photo of me(blonde) and my bestfriend(brunette). She has been my support for over 4 years now and I hope that she will stand by me in the future as well. She’s that kind of girl that doesn’t care about what people think about you and just live life as it should be. Happily and lovely! Even in my darkest days when I feel tired of everything she can make me feel totally awesome. And she always tell me not to worry and get sad over things that won’t make a difference, just live strong and carry on.

I think that everyone needs something to believe in…I hope every day that something extraordinary will happen…that’s the reason that keep me holding on…i hope that my whishes and dreams will come true one day…until them i can’t give up…even when things go wrong there is always a thing, a hope that brings me happiness and gives the strength to go on…music, friends, parents help me everyday and are irreplaceable resources to me…so never give up because there must be something that can help you and most important: NEVER STOP HOPING!!!

I live by this quote because I believe that there’s no use of living and acting and dressing like everyone else.
I believe in this quote because of two things , first of all because being a Simple Plan fan in Egypt and having to face the mockery of others who think I should listen to the kind of music they like , like House Music .. etc
the second reason is as an Egyptian and witnessing the revolution of 25th January I have to be different and act optimistically so I can build this country once again , I have my own opinions I’m 14 year old but I keep posting statuses on Facebook about politics and people often disagree with me because they’re not really that into GOOD CHANGE and EQUALITY !

    FOLLOW YOUR HEART!
Cause in the end your heart already knows what you truly want. So fight for it and don’t waste your time living someone else’s life! It’s YOUR life, so live it like YOU WANT TO!

Even if I need you here, I’ll meet you there.
I lost my mom to cancer 4 years ago and this sentence helps me every day, giving me hope knowing that one day I’ll see her again and it makes missing her a bit more bearable. I would like to take this opportunity and thank Simple Plan for their inspiring songs, I hope they know how much their songs are helping people!

Growing up, my family had their share of issues just as any other. Some of them were harder to deal with than others like when my dad left for a while to better himself. I didn’t understand then, but I do now. I realize that my family has more strength than I could ever understand and that is shown now that we are stronger than ever. I give all this credit to my mom though as she held us together and taught me how to do the same for all my friends now. I am who I am because of her: I know to always believe in myself and that when I think I can’t manage is the most important time to push myself to prevail.

    There’s a bit of magic in everything…

It all starts with a dream… Give yourself permission to dream a big dream. It’s a long way off but if you decide to do it and there’s no doubt you can do it!!! :)

I have always been a dreamer and I always will be, you may also call me a rebel. I have many goals in life and since last year I have been deeply in love with a boy. We are a great couple and we both seem to think we are perfect for each other. However, since we are both Muslims and love affairs are discouraged in our religion and culture we have fought for our love in the worst circumstances. For six months I was in Pakistan living with my grand parents while my parents were away in another country and I was there preparing for my O levels exams which were very important for me and my future. the only things i did were study and talk with boyfriend Syavash. Since I used to text a lot gradually my entire family came to know, my uncles and my aunts, my cousins and everybody. My parents used to call me and scold me at 3 am in the morning and ask me to stop. But I kept fighting, after six months I was on the verge of loosing it when my dad threatened me to marry me to some other guy at the age of 16! Meaning I was not only to loose the love of my life but also my future, which as a dreamer, is very important to me. My cell phone and everything else was confiscated and I even considered suiciding. I still talk to Syavash but my parents don’t know about it now. I am just being strong, I stayed strong and I always will. I will wait for 8 years of this dreadful life of pain and misery and lies till I marry him. And no matter what happens I wont give up, I’ll stay strong.

p.s surprisingly, despite all those fights and long painful nights, I aced my exams, all of them. So all of you dreamers out there, no matter what anyone says to you and no matter how much they try to pull you away from your dreams or discourage you, stay strong. Stay Strong and you’ll make it through.

Resilient! I feel like that has been a gift that I learned even as a child. The list is too long to write about the hardship, challenges and pain that I have felt or experienced in my life but having resilience has always gotten me through even dark (sometimes pitch black) times. There is an old saying “fall down seven times- and get up eight”. Much more than 8 times for me. If I gave up EVER i would’ve missed some of the best moments in my life! Without the Yin-there is no Yang Stay Strong!
